About Me

I am a doctoral researcher at Macquarie University researching about the influence of faith-based advocacy on the politics of human rights.
As a Minister of the Uniting Church in Australia, I most recently served for 15 years as the National Director of UnitingJustice Australia, the Church’s national justice policy and advocacy unit.
I am a member of the Commission of the Churches on International Affairs (CCIA), one of the four advisory bodies of the World Council of Churches and sit on the boards of the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) and the Australian National Development Index (ANDI), the project to develop a wellbeing index for Australia.
I’m a past Chairperson of Act for Peace, the international aid agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia and was the founding Chair of the Australian Churches Refugee Taskforce.
A long time ago I used to work in publishing as a senior book editor and I’ve also been a Chaplain at MLC School, Sydney.
